Esalen ® Massage

…with its long integrating strokes, slow deepwork and specific attention to detail, provides a nurturing, revitalizating experience.

Customized massage techniques relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and reduce stress.

Esalen ® Massage leaves the receiver in a relaxed state of well-being.

being.

Esalen® Massage originated at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, in the 1960s and grew out of the human potential movement.

It brings together mindful touch, slow flowing strokes, and deep presence to address the body as an integrated whole rather than a collection of separate parts.

This style of bodywork supports deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, and embodied awareness. Long, connecting strokes, gentle joint movement, and attentive listening help release tension, restore fluid movement, and foster a sense of wholeness and ease.

Many people experience improved mobility, reduced stress, and a profound feeling of being more at home in their bodies.

Daniela, a Legacy Teacher

As a legacy teacher, I stand in direct relationship to the origins and values of the Esalen® Massage tradition.

My teaching honours this lineage by holding the essence of Esalen Massage: attentive presence, respect for the body’s intelligence, and touch as a form of listening.

I pass on not only techniques, but a way of working that values sensitivity, clarity, and human connection.

To teach as a legacy holder means to care for the integrity of the work while allowing it to stay alive, embodied, and relevant for each new generation.
