FAQ´s Acupuncture

DOES ACUPUNCTURE HURT?

Most people are surprised by how little acupuncture hurts—if at all.The needles used in acupuncture are extremely thin, about the width of a human hair. Because of this, the sensation is usually very mild. People commonly describe what they feel as:

A tiny pinch or tap as the needle goes in

A dull ache, tingling, warmth, or heaviness at the point

A gentle wave of relaxation as the treatment settles in

These sensations are normal and are considered signs that the body is responding. For many, acupuncture is actually deeply calming, and it’s not unusual to fall asleep during a session

HOW MANY ACCUPUNCTURE SESSIONS WILL I NEED?.

The number of sessions needed varies depending on your condition and how long you've had it. Acute conditions may see improvement in just 2-3 sessions, while chronic conditions typically require 6-12 treatments. After an initial consultation, Daniela will recommend a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

HOW LONG DO ACUPUNCTURE SESSIONS LAST?

Depending on the patient's condition and the treatment plan, treatments can range between 30 and 50 minutes.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

For acupuncture, wear loose, comfortable clothing that can be rolled up to access points on your arms and legs. For massage therapy, you may undress to your comfort level (you will be properly draped at all times). We provide gowns and blankets as needed to ensure your comfort and privacy. If possible, schedule yourself to avoid stressful situations and to give yourself time to relax after the treatment.

DO YOU ACCEPT ANY INSURANCE?

No, insurance is accepted. We can provide you with a superbill upon request, for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Some but not all companies provide coverage for acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine benefits. Please check with your provider.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?

24 hours notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling is required. This allows us to offer the time to another client in need of care. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) or no-shows will be fully charged for the service fee. We understand emergencies happen and will consider exceptions for genuine emergencies
